Alrighty Then

Darling hubby went back to work Wednesday. It's slow going but he is doing pretty good. He's off of the crutches and is now using just a cane.

Logan will be 1 YEAR OLD on Sunday. It doesn't seem like a year already. Time sure does fly by! He said "NaNa" to me yesterday for the first time.

Amanda and David are going thru a bit of teenage drama at the moment. It's all a little crazy and I'm just waiting to see what happens next. It would seem that we have another boy trying to make a play for Miss Amanda's attention.

The Woman In Me

Last night, my Red Hat friends and I went to a
Ladies Night Club.
One of the girls wanted to impress the rest of us, so she pulled out a $10 bill.
When the male dancer came over to us,
my friend licked the $10 bill and stuck it to his butt cheek!

Not to be outdone, another friend pulls out a $20 bill. She called the guy back , licks the $20 bill,
and sticks it to his other butt cheek.

In another attempt to impress the rest of us,my third friend
pulls out a $50 bill and calls the guy over,
and licks the $50 bill.
I'm worried about the way things are going,
but fortunately,
she just stuck it to one of his butt cheeks again.

Seeing the way things are going, the guy races over to me!
Now everyone's attention
is focused on me, and the guy is egging me on
to try to top the $50.
My brain was churning as I reached for my wallet.
What could I do?

The woman in me took over!
I got out my ATM card,
swiped it down the crack of his butt,
grabbed the eighty bucks,and left!!!!

Valentine's Day Surgery

Yesterday was a long day here. I didn't get much knitting done while waiting at the hospital, as I had planned. It would seem that knitting will make total strangers talk to you. I had several people ask me ALOT of questions about my knitting. I believe that I got a couple of them interested in taking up the craft and even gave them some websites to check out. ;)

My hubby's surgery went very well and he is currently laying on the couch finding things for me to do. Gotta love those pain meds! LOL Maybe I can get some knitting done while he's knocked out over the next few days, but it doesn't look like it. His birthday is Sunday so I have to go get the car tags renewed today......... Then there's the normal Friday errands to get done. My daughter will be sitting with him for me.

I'M TIRED, Y'ALL..........

IDIOT SIGHTING'S

We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman
told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a
"large" enough motor on the opener.
I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one
Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.
He shook his head and said, "Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower."
I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4. He said, "NO, it's not."
Four is larger than two.."
We haven't used Sears repair since.

IDIOT SIGHTING:
My daughter and I went through the McDonald's take-out window
and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed
her a quarter. She said, "you gave me too much money."
I said, "Yes I know, but this way you can just give me a dollar bill
back." She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to
repeat my request. I did so, and he handed me back the quarter,
and said "Were sorry but we cannot do that kind of thing."
The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1 and 75 cents in change.
Do not confuse the clerks at McD's.

IDIOT SIGHTING:
I live in a semi rural area. We recently had a new neighbor call
the local township administrative office to request the removal
of the DEER CROSSING sign on our road.
The reason: "Too many deer are being hit by cars out here!
I don't think this is a good place for them to be crossing anymore."
From Kingman , KS ..

IDIOT SIGHTING IN FOOD SERVICE:
My daughter went to a local Taco Bell and ordered a taco.
She asked the person behind the counter for "minimal lettuce."
He said he was sorry, but they only had iceberg lettuce.
From Kansas City

IDIOT SIGHTING :
I was at the airport, checking in at the gate when an airport
employee asked, "Has anyone put anything in your baggage
without your knowledge?" To which I replied,
"If it was without my knowledge, how would I know?"
He smiled knowingly and nodded, "That's why we ask."
Happened in Birmingham , Ala.

IDIOT SIGHTING :
The stoplight on the corner buzzes when it's safe to cross the street.
I was crossing with an intellectually challenged coworker of mine.
She asked if I knew what the buzzer was for. I explained that it
signals blind people when the light is red.
Appalled, she responded,
"What on earth are blind people doing driving?!"
She was a probation officer in Wichita , KS ..

IDIOT SIGHTING :
At a good-bye luncheon for an old and dear coworker who was
leaving the company due to "downsizing", our manager
commented cheerfully, "This is fun. We should do this more often."
Not another word was spoken. We all just looked at each other
with that deer-in-the-headlights stare.
This was a lunch at Texas Instruments.
Sounds like something Franklin Covey would do!!!!!

IDIOT SIGHTING :
I work with an individual who plugged her power strip back into
itself and for the sake of her life , couldn't understand why her
system would not turn on.
A deputy with the Dallas County Sheriffs office, no less.

IDIOT SIGHTING:
When my husband and I arrived at an automobile dealership to
pick up our car, we were told the keys had been locked in it.
We went to the service department and found a mechanic working
feverishly to unlock the drivers side door. As I watched from the
passenger side, I instinctively tried the door handle and discovered
that it was unlocked. "Hey," I announced to the technician,
"its open!" His reply, "I know. I already got that side."
This was at the Ford dealership in Canton , Mississippi

STAY ALERT!
They walk among us... and the scary part is that they VOTE
and REPRODUCE and our enemies know it!!! Remember, some of these
are congressmen, senators, govenors, mayors, and teachers -- even presidents.

A GOOD DAY

I've been running non stop for two days doing errands and trying to get everything done before John's surgery on the 14th. I think(?) I'm done.

I got to have a nice long conversation with my son from other parents tonight. He's in Florida right now and I can't tell you how much I miss that boy.

Well, Brian asked our permission to marry Dawn last Friday and we said yes. Tonight he asked her to marry him. She said YES!

Amamda was voted JCMS 2008 Queen tonight at the Valentine's Dance at her school. She was shocked to say the least.

It's been a good day all the way around.

This That & The Other

Well, Brian asked John and I permission to ask Dawn to marry him Friday night. After much talking and questioning we told him it was fine with us. It looks like we'll be having a wedding in a few months.
The first thing Dawn said after the conversation was "Mom, can you make me some cotton dishclothes and washclothes?" Today I sat around and crocheted her the first of several. It was a simple single crochet dishcloth.
We had a nice weekend, for the most part.
Amanda and a friend of hers went to the movies Saturday night and, of course we were their ride. While the kids were watching the movie John and I went out to dinner. It was nice and we got a chance to catch up with each other. After dinner we still had about an hour left to kill so we went to Michaels to look around. I found some very nice yarn and I bought 3 skeins. Moda Dea Tweedle Dee in Surf & Turf. I started knitting a shawl with it from a pattern that came on the yarn.
The big find of the night was 2 skeins of Lion Brand Lion Wool in Pearl Grey and 4 skeins in Autumn Sunset for $1.00 a skein. I have no idea what I'll be making out of it but I'm happy!
Well, I'm tired and ready for bed so that's where I'm off to.

READY FOR THE WEEKEND

I am READY for this weekend. I don't have any plans or anything going on but I NEED a break in the worst way.
The grandbabies are going to their dad's for the weekend. The teen has no plans so there isn't going to be any "Mom, give me a ride to or can we pick up or can I go" going on.
Brian is coming over tonight to have a talk with the hubby and I. Brian is Dawns boyfriend. I know what the talk is about already. He will be asking our permission to marry our daughter! If we say yes he will be asking her to marry him.

Groundhog Day Saturday.
Superbowl Sunday.
